NFS-Toolkit #1
NFS-Toolkit is under intensive development. It will be a unified tool which will allow to create a cars and whole game's world. At the moment only Need For Sped Most Wanted is almost (I am still working on the .OBJ import functionality) fully supported so all examples are related to this game.
The screenshot below shows how the user interface looks like:
Current version allows to load only the selected part of the game world. This will speed up game modding and minimize the required resources.
But of course nothing prevents to load even a whole world (except resources).
It's possible to delete map parts (sections). In the example below all sections except 'Q16' and 'Y' were deleted. The 'Y' sections contain textures only.
Another function that already works is the saving function. The screenshots below show the result of the delete operation in the game:
Next thing that works is the .OBJ export function. The exported file can be opened in any 3D Editor, that supports the Wavefront OBJ file format, like Blender or even built-in Windows 10 app named 3D Builder. All associated textures are also automatically exported.

Great work, by the end of Christmas it will be the final version. It will now be possible to edit the maps in NFS World.

Deletedo this work with nfs world?
ReplyDeleteat the moment only NFS Most Wanted is supported. I am going to add support for other NFS games too.
DeleteWe were waiting for something like that for years! Hopefully we can see support for other NFS Games in near future :)
ReplyDelete+ that will be nice to see a script or something that after adding like other city (ex. Rockport to Carbon) that could automaticly change the EA TRAX to MW one in carbon, but i thi8nk its too earrly to add as advanced things as this.
DeleteAnd good luck in toolkit development :)
Great work! By the way, will it work for Windows 7?
ReplyDeleteyes, it will
DeleteThis is excellent!!! Editing the game world is one very great feature that will make these games seem fresh and new again
ReplyDeleteImport/Export Sounds be great function :D
ReplyDeleteNext thing which will probably happen : a map which contains the maps from UG , UG2 , MW , Carbon and UC ( plus Prostreet for some extra areas. )
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll have some rest too, nfsu360 :)
i think much of us who saw this tool announcement had pretty same idea :) it will be nice to make this in one big map-modder crew, entire idea is just great
Delete@Ti-Sonic If it could import Carbon and UC maps, I will make a new NFS World! :)
DeleteOr open or edit a closed area in NFS World.

Actually we can rip the maps from other games , so preparing them won't be a problem. What awaits us is the import procedure , we know only what can be done as of now , for the moment.
Deletegr8, mate! I'm waiting when it's released and I'll do my mods for NFSUC game.
ReplyDeletewill release for Most Wanted separately, or have to wait for the final version?
ReplyDeletehard to say, it depends on how complicated it will be to add support for next nfs game
DeleteNFSU360 Will it be possible to add new parts of the map to the game or not? Will the program work on such system modifications as NFS Vlted 4.2 (Open / save / import / export / edit / add / delete / rename)?
ReplyDeleteit will be possible to add new parts. At the moment scripting language (similar to the ModScript format) is not planned
DeleteOK Im happy.
DeleteEditing car sound will be possible? Or edit music in the game (Soundtrack).
no
DeleteCar sound editing is possible through VltEd, so there's no reason that feature should be implemented here. Feeling a bit sad about the soundtrack tho :/
DeleteWhat is the content of the L2RA.BUN map? I see only Markers,Sections.
ReplyDeleteof which files is the Markers folder? (add some pictures) Races ? Sprint?
Just found out about this blog.
ReplyDeleteKeep on working man I cant wait to use it.
nfsu360, thank you, that's amazing! kepp going!
ReplyDeleteı cant wait to get my hands on it :P ı'll try to add palmont to mw
