NFS-Disculator v1.0 Released

NFS-Disculator it's a tool that allows to extract content of console version of NFS game (using ZDIR.BIN).

Console versions of Need For Speed games have data stored into one or more binary blobs. To extract data from those files you can use NFS-Disculator. The tool allows you to load ZDIR.BIN file directly from file system or you can choose ISO file. Both ISO formats are supported: standard and XBox/Xbox360. You can load multiple ISO files at once via the Open button.

The main window has 3 main sections:
  • The Explorer - shows structure stored inside ZDIR.BIN file and allows to extract selected folder.
  • The Files List - in this section you will find all files stored inside selected folder. You can select one or multiple files (Shift-Click or Crtl-Click) and extract them via the context menu.
  • The Preview Window - displays up to 4 kilobytes of data from selected file. Data can be presented in binary or text mode.

  1. I see you missed one file in NFSMW Demos. It's one more movie file, showing sprint tutorial. Its name is 'sprint_tutorial_english_ntsc'

  2. In the next version could I add the option to import file into .ISO (PS2)?

    1. I would LOVE to see this too. I would love to do even basic mods on the Xbox and 360.

Regardless it's great to see so many awesome tools for PC players.

  3. undercover ps2 and pc have different maps. be cool if ps2 map be ported on pc version

  4. undercover ps2 and pc have different maps. be cool if ps2 map be ported on pc version

  5. Hi @nfsu360 ! When trying to open the ZDIR.BIN file from Xbox 360 version of Need for Speed Most Wanted (Release, not beta or demo) the tool display this error message (see picture below).
If translate error message text from Russian, result is: "Error: element with the same key has been added yet."
Path to the file doesn't contain cyrillic or special (like spaces) symbols, attributes like Read-only isn't applied, I'm the owner of the dir and all the files inside it, the tool was launched "as Administrator", and no more applications uses these files at this moment.
I don't know what is it, may be file is locked/encrypted or just not supported?

    ZDIR.BIN (if needed to analyze):
